PA Group Announces Review of PA Sport

PA Group recognises that there has been considerable interest in the market in relation to its plans for the future of PA Sport, a highly successful business and a world leader in its industry.

To ensure that PA Sport, which has grown rapidly over the last eight years, can take full advantage of the changes and opportunities emerging across the sports industry, the board is reviewing the strategic options for the business.

The review will consider how the long term interests of shareholders, staff and customers are best served. However, the board has determined that the Group will retain the core Press Association sports wire to ensure that it continues to serve its wire customers.

The board stresses that whilst all options are being considered, any sale or outside investment in the wider sports information, rights and data business can only be contemplated with a partner that the Group believes is committed to developing the business. In addition, the board must also be satisfied that any such decision is in the best interest of the shareholders and other stakeholders in the business.
